If you have the urge to complain about ministers breaking COVID-19 rules to the authorities, there’s a new platform for you to do just that.

The Muda political party yesterday launched the “Lapor Menteri” (Report a Minister) website, for people to complain about Malaysian ministers and those in positions of power who allegedly broke coronavirus measures such as traveling between states or participating in mass gatherings.

The website went live just hours after a Twitter user outed ministers for attending the wedding of Noor Syahira, the daughter of Jelebu MP Jalaluddin Alias, in Negeri Sembilan, which is among states under the Conditional Movement Control Order lockdown measures where interstate travel is banned.

It is not known how many reports have been made on the website so far but Muda spokesperson Amir Hadi told the press yesterday that all information will be compiled and relayed to the police.

“If the public sees any VIP, no matter who they are, breaking COVID-19 rules yet no further action has been taken against them, they can report them to our website,” he said, adding: “We will compile all the complaints and information regarding these ministers and VIPs and make it public for everyone to see and bring to the attention of the authorities.”

Twitter user @lamkanahraf yesterday shared photos of ministers attending the wedding at the Klana Resort Seremban. The photos were originally posted to Instagram by Zaidy Kadir from the UMNO political party but have since been removed. They showed Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation Khairy Jamaluddin, Finance Minister Zafrul Aziz, and Minister of Federal Territories Annuar Musa in the ballroom.

Interstate travel to states under the Conditional Movement Control Order lockdown measures is not allowed under the latest COVID-19 measures. These places include Negeri Sembilan, Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, and Penang.

Zaidy has since deleted his Instagram account.

The Muda political party is led by Muar MP Syed Saddiq, 27, who is currently in Singapore to complete his studies under the Lee Kuan Yew Senior Fellowship in Public Service program by NUS.
