News has emerged today that the male suspect involved in a road rage incident earlier this month’s is to be charged in the other driver’s subsequent death tomorrow.

Selangor police have revealed that the suspect is expected to be charged with murder, following an altercation between himself, and a 29-year-old driver.

Investigations into the deadly incident that occurred along the PLUS Highway near Bandar Baru Bangi have concluded, and police have sent their paperwork to the deputy public prosecutor, as they await action.

On August 10, the 40-year-old suspect, along with his 36-year-old wife, encountered the 29-year-old victim when his car allegedly hit theirs, just after the Sungai Besi toll plaza.

Instead of pulling over to discuss particulars, a chase between the two cars ensued, leading up to a physical altercation near the Bandar Baru Bangi interchange. Bystanders separated the two men, and they returned to their respective vehicles.

Following this, the 29-year-old man returned to his car, only to exit again, this time holding a baseball bat. He then marched over to the suspect’s car, and smashed the front of his vehicle with the bat. In the fracas, the 40-year-old man hit the accelerator, hitting the victim.

That accident left the younger man crushed between the car and the median, and in need of serious medical attention. He was sent to the nearby medical center, where he died.

Video footage and images of the victim bent over in what appears to be agony on the divider were circulated across social media. In the clip and images, the 40-year-old man seen still shouting in rage, and flipping off the camera.

Police held the couple in remand for seven days, after which the wife was free to go, but her husband’s order extended until August 22.
