Police arrest two of the three men attached to car towing extortion case

Kuala Lumpur police have confirmed today that two of the three suspects involved in a viral incident of attempting to tow a woman’s car from the Malaysian International Trade and Exhibition Center (MITEC) have been arrested.

On Friday, May 17, a trio of men attempted to tow a 32-year-old woman’s Mazda, claiming that she had defaulted on loan payments for the last 19 months.

Yesterday afternoon, the tow truck driver involved in the incident surrendered himself to police, turning himself in at 2:20pm after the video clip made its rounds on the internet. The second man was arrested at a nearby hotel at 11:50pm later that evening.

Police have urged the third man to turn himself in, as they are now investigating the trio under extortion charges.
