On Sunday, thousands of Buddhists in Malaysia celebrated the birthday and enlightenment of Lord Buddha by remembering the victims of Nepal’s devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake that has killed more than 7,000 people so far.
Devotees showed up as early as 6am at the iconic Buddhist Maha Vihara temple in Brickfields to pray, give alms and take part in a blood donation and organ donation drive at the temple. Coconuts KL’s Kamal Sellehuddin was in the city to capture these scenes.
