Penang airport flooded, 14 flights delayed

Heavy rains wreaked havoc in Penang this evening, resulting in 14 flights having to be rescheduled at the Penang International Airport (PIA) in Bayan Lepas.

The Star Online reported that 10 incoming and four outgoing flight were affecting by the bad weather since 4pm Monday.

AirAsia flights from Jakarta, Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur (two), Saigon and Johor Baru were among those affected.

Additionally, a Firefly flight from Kota Baru and three Malindo Air flights from Malacca, Subang and Kuala Lumpur were also delayed, reports The Star.

The airport reportedly began flooding around 5pm.
