Officer accused of raping the maid who came asking for police help

Police have arrested one of their own, after he allegedly raped an Indonesian maid who came to the Johor-area station where he worked, asking for help regarding problems she was having with her employer. The incident occurred early Tuesday morning.

The 24-year-old victim reported to police that she wanted to leave her current job; however, the individual she was working for had confiscated her passport and she needed to retrieve it before leaving. Local friends of the woman told her to ask for police assistance in the matter, and she went to the nearby Skudai station to ask for officers to help.

The suspect, a 30-year-old based at the station, initially expressed eagerness to help the victim, and offered to escort her to the employer’s house to get the passport.

Instead, he pulled over en route to a budget hotel, and solicited sex from the victim, telling her he would only help her if she complied.

Fearing her safety, she agreed to enter the hotel with the officer, where she says he then raped her.

After the incident, the woman went to the Senai police headquarters and filed a report against the officer, detailing what had occurred.

The officer in question was arrested, and police have already been dispatched to the budget hotel with a forensic team to gather evidence. CCTV from the hotel confirmed that the duo had indeed checked in; however, the officer has yet to be charged with rape.
