Obese man who vowed to lose weight finds himself taken to hospital again via truck

A morbidly obese man weighing 221kg from Kampung Mengkabang Telipot in Terengganu, has now been take to the hospital three times via a truck fit with a hydraulic lift, as he can no longer fit into a regular ambulance.

Obesity comes with a laundry list of health-related issues that include, and are not limited to, stroke, heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, sleep apnoea, every cancer you can think of, gall stones, you get the idea.

Harian Metro­ reports that the extra-support on Faisal Md Ali’s hospital trips began in April of last year, when he was brought to the district hospital via truck, and with assistance from the Civil Defence Force, after having breathing difficulties.

Then in July of the same year, the 29-year-old was taken again via truck for high blood pressure. At the time, Faisal spoke to New Straits Times, saying that he was determined to lose the weight. He added that it “will take some time, as I only met up with a fitness instructor nine months ago to help me get into shape.”

However, a year later Faisal has struggled to make any serious gains. His latest health incident occurred Tuesday, when after suffering chest pains, he was sent to the hospital in a 5-ton truck with hydraulic lift.
