Man single-handedly takes down snatch thief who allegedly yanked off wife’s gold chain

A suspected snatch thief thought he could easily get away after allegedly yanking a woman’s gold chain from her neck, but little did he know, the woman’s husband is a badass.

According to The New Straits Times, the alleged snatch theft incident reportly when a couple, their three-year-old son and a friend stopped at a petrol station in Subang Jaya for a car wash at about 10.30am, after attending a Deepavali prayer at the Perumal SS13 temple.

While they were waiting for their car to be washed, a male motorcyclist in his 30s reportedly rode up to them and allegedly yanked the gold chain off the woman’s neck.

Just as the suspect was about to make a run for it, the victim’s brave husband immediately sprung into action.

The man reportedly managed to grab hold of the passing motorcycle’s handlebars and pushed the suspect off his bike.

A brief scuffle then reportedly ensued, but the man managed to hold down the suspect until the authorities arrived.

Subang Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohammad Azlin Sadari told the daily that the suspect was taken into custody and the victim’s husband managed to recover the gold chain.

“The victim was uninjured, but her husband sustained scratches on his right elbow and knees in the brief struggle with the suspect,” ACP Mohammad Azlin was quoted as saying.

The case is reportedly being investigated under Section 392 of the Penal Code for robbery.
