Man linked to Setapak shoot-and-kill case arrested

The police have arrested a man believed to be involved in the shooting and killing of a man in Setapak a fortnight ago.

According to a report by Bernama, the 34-year-old was picked up by the police in Sentul at around 1am on Wednesday.

Kuala Lumpur Police CID chief SAC Rusdi Mohd Isa told the news agency that the suspect has previous criminal records of causing hurt and causing death.

“The local man has been remanded for seven days until Tuesday to assist investigation and to trace the other suspects,” SAC Rusdi was quoted as saying.

On July 27, 43-year-old moneylender V Kandasamy was killed when he was shot 18 times by two gunmen on motorcycles at a traffic light intersection near Setapak Central. Ten shots reportedly hit the victim.
