Man found dead under a big pile of clothes in Setapak

A 58-year-old man was found dead under a mattress covered by a big pile of clothes in his flat on Thursday.

According to a report by The New Straits Times, the man was believed to have been murdered.

City Criminal Investigation Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Rusdi Mohd Isa told the daily that the police were alerted to the body at around 12.40pm.

The police have reportedly taken the man’s daughter, who is in her 30s, into custody.

However, facts of the case are being kept under wraps as the police are still investigating the case, according to ACP Rusdi.

Meanwhile, a neighbour told the daily that he would often hear arguments and commotion coming from the victim’s home in Danau Kota, Setapak.

The victim, according to the neighbour, reportedly lives with his daughter and a one-year-old girl.

The neighbour also claimed that a man, believed to be a foreigner, would often show up at the victim’s house and they would often get into an argument.

“There was one time when the victim yelled at the man and chased him away,” he was quoted by the daily as saying.
