A rubbish collector was horrifically crushed to death at a waste disposal site in Hulu Selangor.
According to The Star Online, the incident happened at around 7.30am on Sunday.
Hulu Selangor OCPD Supt R. Supramaniam told the news portal that Nagaraja N.Subramaniam, 49, and one of his co-workers were cleaning a dump truck at the site when the metal compactor suddenly closed onto the duo, crushing them both.
Nagaraja was reportedly killed on the spot while the other co-worker has been sent to Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment.
The incident was reportedly caused by a hydraulics malfunction, according to Supt R. Supramaniam.
He added that the police have classified the case as sudden death, but they are currently investigating whether there was any negligence involved.
