Man claims ‘snakes’ attacked his car, police are super confused

When a man went to the Ulu Yam Bharu Police Station last Thursday to lodge a report after a den of snakes damaged his car in an attack, he left the police with a huge question mark on their heads.

Yup, just like this.

Okay, here’s how the story goes:

According to the 48-year-old man, he was driving through Jalan Besar Sungai Tua in Ulu Yam Bharu, Selangor when he encountered a den of snakes crossing the road.

Perhaps startled by the man’s vehicle, the snakes reportedly started attacking his car.

In fact, a snake even managed to dent the bonnet of his Toyota Camry, the man claimed.

After the attack, the snakes reportedly escaped into the bushes.

But before you call the man delusional or start speculating that the man discovered a new species of snake people planning to take over the planet ala ‘Planet of the Apes’, there’s a perfect explanation for this.

‘We are snake peoplez. We like to dent carzzzz’

Baffled the man’s police report, Hulu Selangor District Police Chief Supt R. Supramaniam told Bernama that a team of policemen were dispatched to the location to investigate the man’s claims.

As it turns out, it was a case of mistaken identity.

According to Supramaniam, the police found, upon further investigation, that the ‘snakes’ the man claimed damaged his car were actually horses.

“The complainant, a Chinese man from Puchong, was not fluent in Malay, and said ‘ular‘ (snake) instead of ‘kuda‘ (horse).

“Our investigations at the location found that his car was attacked by a herd of horses which were crossing the road,” Supramaniam was quoted as saying.

Supramaniam told the news agency that at around 10.45am, one of the horses reportedly kicked the man’s car while it was crossing the road, denting the car’s bonnet in the process.

He added that the police have informed the Hulu Selangor District Council about the incident and further action would be taken against the owner of the horses.
