The motorcyclist captured on a dashcam not stopping at a zebra crossing, hitting and subsequently killing a woman in Penang was scolded by the presiding magistrate for appearing in court without a lawyer.

The Star reports that the man, Nazri Che Lah, had previously asked for a new date, so that he could have more time to find legal representation.

Magistrate Mohamed Amin Shahul Hamid frustratingly told Nazri that “you asked for a new date to appoint a lawyer before. How many times do you want to ask for time to find a lawyer?” The defendant only nodded.

Mohamed Amin set the trial date for November 8, and told Nazri that any failure to come to court would result in the issuing of an arrest warrant.

The accident, where he failed to stop after hitting 58-year-old Foo Swee Wah in Pulay Tikus, horrified netizens who watched the accident in full via another car’s camera.

Footage of the accident can be seen here. Prepare yourself to feel sad, perturbed and angry.
