Malindo Air staff struck by lightning while handling baggage trolley at Subang Airport

Talk about being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

A Malindo Air ground staff was reportedly struck by lightning at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang Jaya on Thursday.

Bernama reported that the incident occured at around 3pm, just before a heavy downpour started.

Malindo Air Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Chandran Rama Muthy told the news agency that the victim was reportedly pushing a baggage trolley on the runway when a bolt of lightning struck it.

The victim reportedly suffered from contact strike.

According to Chandran, the ground staff was immediately rushed to the Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment.

“Upon medical attention he is now in stable condition,” Chandran was quoted as saying.
