Malaysia’s queen said today that she has a hairline fracture on her left ankle after injuring herself yesterday during a golf outing with her husband, King Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.

Queen Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, 60, discovered the fracture today after getting an X-ray, according to her Instagram post. She hurt herself after tripping over a sprinkler at the Royal Pahang Golf Club in Kuantan, where she was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital.

“Travel in style. It’s a hairline fracture. I’m sad that I will have to be like robocop for 2 weeks and no golf for 6 weeks,” the queen wrote, sharing a photo of her left foot fitted with a brace.

She told her Instagram followers yesterday that her ankle was swollen but there were no broken bones. She also noted that the level of pain she felt was “normal.”

“I was playing golf this morning and did not notice the sprinklers when I tripped over it, and sprained my ankle,” she said Monday, adding: “Thankfully, it’s only just swollen and not broken.”
