A ballsy ad using the hairy rambutan and lychee fruit to promote electric shavers to men has gotten Malaysians amused.

The 20-second Trim Your Rambut-an ad that was originally released by Panasonic in March is making its rounds online today, drawing all sorts of comments from Malaysians tickled by how the popular Southeast Asian fruits were being used.

Some might not even be able to see them in the same light ever again now that the internet has a record of the phallic-shaped shaver trimming the rambutan’s hair so that it ends up looking “smooth as lychee.” Rambut means hair in Malay.

“Not me finding this ad amusing,” Twitter user Mcehsankho said today, while another user Ninslokiee called the ad “funny and stupid at the same time.”

The comments streamed in after the ad was reshared to Twitter by user Indra__ , who had questioned why it was allowed to run in Malaysia when a feminine hygiene brand was forced to pull its vulva-designed sanitary pads just recently. But other Malaysians reacting to it seemed more entertained by the cheeky ad that had also featured a topless man flaunting his six pack abs and strategically positioning his towel-wrapped torso right in front of the fruits.

The ad ended with the device wedged between the two fruits and saying: “Bros for life.”

More than 400,000 people have viewed the ad on YouTube as of today.
