Reports are emerging of the death of a Malaysian-born woman with US citizenship at the alleged hands of her American husband yesterday on Penang island.

Police responded to an emergency call to their family’s Island Glades, Jelutong-neighborhood house at 4:20am Tuesday, where they found 60-year-old Chin Geok Heong in critical condition. She later died on her way to Penang Hospital.

The victim’s 62-year-old husband, who is also a Malaysian-born man with US citizenship, has been taken into police custody and is expected to be charged with her murder.

Family members report that the couple were due to fly back to their home stateside on the same day that the alleged murder occurred; however, at 2:30am Tuesday, Chin’s sibling heard the two arguing loudly, followed by a scream of the victim. When they opened the door, Chin was unconscious on the floor.

An autopsy has revealed that she died due to suffocation, believed to have occurred at the hands of her husband.
