Malaysian Bali prison escapee Tee Kok King thought to be back in Malaysia, enjoying ‘nasi lemak’ no doubt

Escaped Malaysian prisoner, and folk hero for anyone who loves Shawshank Redemption AND El Chapo, Tee Kok King may be in Malaysia, according to Indonesian authorities via The Star.

You may remember Tee Kok King as being part of a 4-man group of foreign inmates who escaped Bali’s Kerobokan Penitentiary in June, digging their way to an unused tunnel in the prison, to make their bid for freedom. It was all pretty exciting stuff, really.

Two of the men, Indian Sayed Muhammad Said and Bulgarian Dimitar Nikolov Iliev, were caught four days after their escape in East Timor. Australian prisoner Shaun Edward Davidson, and Tee Kok King have yet to be found, although Bali police have gone as far as to say that they believe Davidson is still on the island, despite what his social media fan pages may tell you.

Bali police chief Insp Gen Petrus Reinhard Golose has said that Malaysian police have offered their assistance in tracking down Tee Kok King, should he have made it to Malaysian shores.

However, if he is in fact, back in Malaysia, there is little chance he’ll be seeing Bali anytime soon. Malaysian laws allow for optional extradition of its citizens to Indonesia. Booyah!

While Tee Kok King has kept a low profile since his escape, with no known movements or whereabouts, Australian Davidson has taken an entirely different route.

Recently, his social media account saw the escapee upload a picture of his wanted poster, along with fingerprints, to taunt police. Did they not show Law & Order in Australia? They can track that stuff, you know. Dun dun.
