Police are investigating a series of attacks in and around the east coast city of Kuantan, after several individuals reported their window screens broken all with similar modus operandi.

Since June, 11 drivers have reported that their screens were shattered while driving, and the weapon being used is a marble. Four of these individuals have since filed a police report on the matter; however, investigators are still in the dark over who is causing all of the damage, and to what end.

Authorities believe that whoever is carrying out the marble attacks is doing so using either an air gun, or a slingshot, and they are operating under the cloak of night, working between 7pm and midnight. Attacks have occurred along Jalan Wong Ah Jang, Jalan Haji Junid, Jalan Kampung Jawa, and Jalan Kampung Tengah. The attackers are believed to also be in moving vehicles – either motorbike or car.

One victim described his attacks as “sudden,” and out of nowhere last Thursday, at approximately 11:45pm. When he examined the shattered glass, he found a marble, later filing a police report.

While no motive has been ascertained as of yet, police are not ruling out that robbery could be one of them.
