Kuala Selangor officer under investigation after flipping over a table of fish while on duty at wet market

A Kuala Selangor Disctrict Council (MDKS) officer is now under investigation after video of him flipping a table full of fish at the Pasir Penambang Saturday wet market went viral.

While drunk New Jersey reality television housewives have been known to flip a switch, and a table, it’s a rare occurrence to see an officer unnecessarily throw a table top of freshly caught fish into the air, and onto the floor.

MDKS has confirmed that the officer was on duty, and that investigations regarding the incident are currently being carried out. Acting president of the local council, Mohamad Yusli Askandar, added that the man has been given desk duty since the incident became viral over the weekend.

He added that officers were patrolling the wet market checking for infringements by sellers, such as blocked walkways. After meeting with the victim fishmonger whose pescatarian delights ended up on the floor, Yusli called the incident a “misunderstanding.”

Netizens were left furious with the offending officer’s behavior, with many wondering what authority he possessed to carry out actions that many thought tantamount to abuse.

Yusli told media outlets that he was unaware of any previous incidents involving the officer, but added that regardless of whether the fishmonger was in the wrong, “the officer should not have acted in such a manner.”

Good to know that local council presidents agree, acting like a thuggish housewife while carrying out official duties, is like, you know, out of order.
