All it took was just five minutes.

Four robbers managed to escape with RM230,000 worth of jewellery in a robbery in Shah Alam on Wednesday, according to a news report by Bernama.

Shah Alam Police chief ACP Shafien Mamat told the news agency that four men in their 30s arrived at the jewellery shop on two motorcycles in the 3.52pm incident.

“The suspects wearing crash helmets and armed with a pistol, parang and a hammer threatened the workers to hand over the jewellery.

“No customers were inside the shop at that time and no employees were hurt,” he was quoted as saying, adding that the jewellery shop is a family business which was not equipped with safety features.

According to ACP Shafien, the police reportedly found a jacket belonging to one of the suspects at the shop. The case is being investigated under Section 395 and 397 of the Penal Code.
