Groom-to-be, friend, shot dead while delivering wedding cards in Serdang

Two men in Seri Kembangan — on their rounds to hand out wedding invitations — were shot dead in front of a coffee shop last night.

The murders happened at 9.20pm at Jalan Serdang Jaya 2/20, while victims Shamnson Arputhasamy and  A. Rubban Avudayar — both 25 — were on their way to deliver wedding cards, Bernama reports.

According to the report, one of the victims, who worked as a mechanic, was due to marry on July 4.

Serdang OCPD, ACP Razimi Ahmad was quoted as saying that two individuals, said to be unknown to the victims, turned up in a motorbike and one of them shot at the victims five times at close range.

“The first victim was shot twice in the chest while the second victim was shot in the abdomen,” he was quoted as saying.

“The suspects could not be identified because they were wearing helmets and covered their faces. The bodies were sent to the Serdang Hospital for post-mortem,” he was quoted further.
