A grass cutter probably had the shock of his life when he stumbled upon a two-meter long crocodile in Melaka Perdana on Monday.

According to a report by Harian Metro, the crocodile was believed to have come from a canal located about 100m away and was reportedly “sunbathing” in a monsoon drain when the grass cutter came across the reptile at 11am.

Malacca Civil Defence Department (JPAM) director Effendy Ali told the daily that seven personnel were dispatched to the scene to capture the 80kg crocodile.

“Our men took about 30 minutes to capture it. We had to subdue it first as it was behaving aggressively.

“The animal has been handed over to the Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) for further action,” he was quoted as saying.

Perhaps Mr Crocodile was being aggresive because he just wanted to sunbathe in peace?
