Good news, folks; Sg Buloh-Kajang MRT line to start operating on December 16

Finally, ladies and gentlemen; the long wait is over!

The first phase of the MRT project, linking Sungai Buloh to Kajang, will begin operations on December 16.

Rapid KL officially announced the news on its Facebook page on Tuesday:

According to Rapid KL, the first phase consists of 12 fully operational stations from its starting point at Sungai Buloh all the way to Semantan.

The 12 stations are: Sungai Buloh, Kampung Selamat, Kwasa Damansara, Kwasa Sentral, Kota Damansara, Surian, Mutiara Damansara, Bandar Utama, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Phileo Damansara, Pusat Bandar Damansara and Semantan.

Phase 2 of the MRT line, covering the remaining 19 stations, is reportedly scheduled to start operations by July 2017.

The entire Sungai Buloh-Kajang (SBK) MRT line reportedly spans 51 kilometers.

The Star Online earlier reported that the MRT fare for the SBK line starts from RM1 all the way up to RM6.40.

The news portal also reported that a 50 per cent discount on the cash fare would also be offered to the disabled, senior citizens and students.
