A fight between two adults at a food stall in Bukit Ampang left a 15-month-old baby with 20 percent burns burns over her body.
According to a report by Harian Metro, as translated by The Star Online, the incident happened two weeks ago when a group of three men confronted 20-year-old Mohd Salim Nurali at his workplace over a misunderstanding.
Mohd Salim told the Malay daily that his wife and his daughter were in the kitchen during the incident.
Suddenly, the three men reportedly rushed towards them and one of the them allegedly kicked a wok filled with hot cooking oil, flipping it over.
The scalding oil, used to fry potatoes, reportedly spilled and burned the toddler, Nur Arissa Jannah, and her mother, Nor Narissa Sofea, 20.
The three suspects then reportedly fled the scene.
Mohd Salim immediately rushed his wife and daughter to the Ampang Hospital before lodging a police report.
According to the Malay daily, Nur Arissa is still being treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL).
The police are currently investigating the case.
