Drunk man crashes into memorial hall, carried out shirtless from car by police

The man at the center of a shocking video that showed his four-wheel drive car lodged into the entrance of a Genting Highlands memorial hall was allegedly drunk at the time of the incident.

The scene at Lim Goh Tong Memorial Hall Friday afternoon was alarming – the white pick-up had crashed into a staircase, yet the driver continued to push the accelerator. The friction eventually blew out two of the car’s tires, and they flew off the wheels.

Police surrounded the vehicle, pointing at the suspect inside with their machine guns, and demanded that he step outside the vehicle. He appeared to be unwilling to cooperate; however, in a second clip, the suspect was then seen being carried out of the truck shirtless.

Initial investigations concluded that the man was under the influence of alcohol, though no word yet on any other substances that the man could have possibly ingested. He is currently awaiting a mental health evaluation.

Genting Highlands is a resort located one hour outside of Kuala Lumpur.

It’s a popular weekend destination for city-dwellers seeking the cooler hillside temperatures the location has to offer, as well as the area’s many casinos.
