An early morning commuter has publicly alleged that she found an unappetizing surprise at the bottom of her take-away breakfast from the Bangsar outlet of Old Town White Coffee: An accompanying photograph showed a dead fly in what was left of her mee hoon.

Returning to the Menara UOA outlet with the evidence, what upset her was the fact that management allegedly seemed less than concerned with the vermin in her food, and simply told her that such occurrences “usually don’t happen when you eat in”; however, when a person takes their wrapped food away, “anything can happen.”
Threatening to take the situation and lackadaisical hygiene attitude to the Ministry of Health, the manager told her to “go ahead.”
Posting the details of the incident to her Facebook page, and sharing it with the official Facebook page of Old Town White Coffee, she says she hopes that the restaurant will address her concerns.
A representative from Old Town White Coffee responded to our questions over the incident, ensuring us that their customer care team has now contacted the disgruntled customer and “is currently in touch with the customer for details and investigation in the matter.”
They have added that they are “taking this matter very seriously and will activate the necessary action steps needed to resolve the matter and mitigate any similar incidents from recurring.”
