Crane collapses at Damansara Perdana construction site

While we are still reeling from the deadly collapse of a pedestrian bridge at the KL Eco City last week, there was yet another construction mishap on Monday.

A picture showing a crane hanging upside down on a high-rise building under construction has been making its rounds on social media.

The picture was first uploaded onto Facebook by a user who goes by the name of Hardesh Singh on Monday afternoon.

“Just moments ago, this crane overturned and is dangling precariously on the ledge of Empire Development.

“Doesn’t look like anyone was in it, but no idea if anyone got hurt. Yet another example of construction mishaps,” he wrote in the posting.

Meanwhile, Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Mohd Sani Harul confirmed the incident.

Mohd Sani told The Star Online that the incident happened at a construction site located in front of the LHDN building at Empire Bandar Damansara Perdana.

According to Mohd Sani, the department received a distress call at about 2pm and five personnel reportedly rushed to the scene.

“No one was injured during the incident,” Mohd Sani was quoted by the news portal as saying.
