The driver who took his Toyota Vios against traffic on a busy Kota Kinabalu bypass is dead after his car collided with a truck.
Yong Yuk Ken was behind the wheel of the Vios, and died on the spot at 12:30am this morning. The driver of the van is seriously injured, and is in hospital.
Dash camera footage from another driver shows Yong driving recklessly against oncoming traffic in a parallel lane, with cars dodging to get out of his way. Among the vehicles were large lorries and an express bus.
His car came to a halt when he collided with the van. Police are still unsure of what the motives could be to drive so dangerously, and are currently investigating the case.
