Brother-sister residential drugs manufacturing syndicate busted by cops

An ecstasy drug manufacturing, brother-sister duo was busted last Thursday, and police have put the value of the haul at nearly RM800,000 (US$190,000). That’s a lot of party.

Authorities say the raid took place at 5:30pm, in the Bukit Mertajam, Penang, located on the mainland area of the state. A 44-year-old woman was detained in a modest house. She then led police to a second location, 500 meters from the raid, where the processing laboratory was housed.

The bust uncovered all sorts of party favors, including 7,135 ecstasy pills ready for poppin’, 2.13kg of ecstasy power ready for droppin’, 18kg of “fake medicine” ready for frontin’, and 1.3kg of caffeine powder ready to keep you awake for longer than you ever wanted.

In total, RM769,250 worth of narcotics, which sounds to us like an incredibly lengthy jail sentence.

The woman’s brother, who was said to be part of the same syndicate, was later nabbed at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 5:15am Friday morning, after a tip-off (wait, from who? The sister?!)

He was attempting to board a flight to Miri, Sarawak in an attempt to evade capture.

Both brother and sister are now in remand under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
