Worried citizens at the Sungai Besar market called emergency officials over the weekend, to report the motionless body of a man along the nearby river. Unresponsive and lying in a ditch, witnesses believed the man to be dead.
However, shortly after officials arrived on the scene, the once comatose body suddenly sprang back to life and started climbing out from the crevice where he once laid.
Sungai Besar Fire and Rescue arrived on the scene at 1:30pm with a seven-man team to find a shirtless man on the opposite side of the river.
When team members began to mobilize in order to lift the body, the previously unresponsive man suddenly “got up and left.”
Images of the man, and his subsequent resurrection, went viral on social media over the weekend.
The man reportedly fell in the ditch after trying to retrieve water, and – surprise, surprise — was under the influence of drugs at the time.
