What’s more exciting than finding out that Shawn Mendes has nothing better to do with his Kuala Lumpur downtime than hang out at Suria KLCC?
Realizing that in less than two months, former United States president Barack Obama, and former first lady Michelle Obama, will be gracing our fair shores as part of the Obama Foundation’s first Leaders: Asia-Pacific summit.
Taking place from Dec. 10 to 14 in the capital, the event aims to bring together 200 up-and-coming young leaders in the region for a year-long program that teaches values-based and ethical leadership in their communities. The foundation’s aim is that these individuals will have a local impact, and effect positive changes in the world.
The 200 chosen to participate in Asia Pacific’s program and gathering come from 30 countries and regions, working in both the public and private sector. Previously, the foundation worked with young leaders in Chicago and Johannesburg.
“This program will build upon the community organizing legacy of the Obamas, with a focus on shared values and ethical leadership, and we are excited to embark on a yearlong program to empower these leaders to tackle the unique challenges they face in their communities,” reads an Obama Foundation press release on the project.
Participants are expected to engage in skill-building workshops, creative problem-solving, leadership development, and regional networking.
Sounds fun, y’all. Guestlist ken?
