After raids in Kuching and Padawan, Sarawak police can add several international cockfighting gambling rings to their roster of busts. Also part of the cull: local village cockfighting spots.

One hundred and fifty individuals were arrested, across 72 different raids, in 22 districts over the past week. Wow, this is like “a thing.”

The individuals arrested were found to have placed bets on cockfights, that were then streamed live online, for their viewing pleasure, we assume.

The Star reports that four-digit lotteries were also raided in the same districts. Police seized, laptops, televisions Wi-Fi sets, mobile phones, RM37,000 cash, and we imagine a few feathers.

This follows raids earlier this year in the state, where 326 gamblers were picked up by police in an even bigger bust, that saw 21 live roosters, and three dead ones picked up during the ops. Cockfighting spurs, gambling chips, and cash were also seized.
