The royal city and former capital of the state of Selangor, Klang is situated about 32km to the west of Kuala Lumpur. The town is named after the Klang River, which cuts the town in half. Klang is the home of several modern up-and-coming townships such as Bandar Botanic and Bandar Bukit Tinggi, making it one of the fastest growing cities in the Klang Valley. Klang is also the birthplace of bak kut teh - a Hokkien-style dish of pork ribs cooked in a strong, dark herbal stock.
