Not wanting to go against his religious beliefs, Malaysian actor Zahiril Adzim once turned down a Hollywood film offer because it required him to be in sex scenes while being half-naked.

He said it did not take him long to reject the offer as it went against Islam.

“I rejected the role years ago for the movie the title of which I have also forgotten.”

“Reading the script, there were already intimate scenes from the beginning that required the actress and me to be half-naked,” he was quoted as saying.

Zahiril, who received the Most Promising Actor award at the 22nd Malaysian Film Festival in 2008, admitted that he had hopes of expanding his horizons to films abroad but insisted that he would not go against Islamic principles for the sake of his work.

He is known for his roles in Bunohan (2011), Pekak (2015), and Juvana (2011), to name a few.

“I am not so much into chasing for a Hollywood role but if given the chance who would not want that?” “But if the job requires me to go against Allah, I’d rather reject.”
