Lost your way? Let Yuna sing you the directions!

Malaysian songbird Yuna is everywhere these days.

First, she was chosen to perform the 2016 Olympics theme song. Then, her latest album ‘Chapters’ was named one of the best R&B albums of 2016 by Rolling Stone magazine.

And now, she will be your compass – well, sort of!

The 29-year-old singer became the first Malaysian to record a singing voice prompt for traffic and navigation app Waze.

The special collaboration between Japanese cultured milk drink brand Calpis and the popular app will see the Oscar-nominated singer singing (yes, singing!) directions to Waze users who activate the feature in the app.

“I’m excited and I hope to bring a little goodness to my fans who are stuck in traffic. I also hope that Malaysians stay safe on the roads. Keep calm in traffic, take breaks on long journeys and have some Calpis in between to refresh yourselves,” Yuna said.

She first announced the collaboration with Waze through a posting on her official Facebook page on Sunday:

In the posting, the “Crush” singer also shared a behind-the-scenes video of her recording the voice prompts. The video has since been viewed more than 1,200 times on YouTube:

So, if you want Yuna to sing you the direction to your favourite café or shopping mall, you can change your voice settings to English (UK) – Yuna under the ‘Settings’ tab:

Hey, maybe “Turn Left Into Jalan Telawi” could be Yuna’s next hit single, right guys?
