Former Malaysian beauty queen inducted into Malaysia Book Of Records

Former Malaysian beauty queen Soo Wincci has just obtained her doctorate – and she set a national record along the way!

The 31-year-old singer received her doctorate in Business Administration from the Open University Malaysia’s (OUM) at its graduation ceremony held on Monday.

Right after the ceremony, she was presented with a certificate from the Malaysia Book of Records for being the first Miss World Malaysia to receive a doctorate.

The clearly ecstatic Wincci took to her official Facebook page to share the good news, labelling her special day as a “special history in my life”:

“It feels so surreal,” she was quoted by The New Straits Times as saying.

She also told the daily that receiving the award is a good motivation for her to keep striving and doing her best.

“This is just the beginning. I hope to give back to society. I would like to devote my time to giving motivational talks to secondary school students on the importance of education,” she was further quoted as saying.

Crowned Miss World Malaysia in 2008, Wincci also runs her own talent and artiste management company, Beyond Artistes.
