A U.S. burger chain today opened its first Malaysian outlet at a popular tourist spot in Pahang.

Malaysians eager to customize meals with Five Guys’ 15 signature toppings like grilled jalapenos, green peppers, and hot sauce may do so at its 2,600 sqft space at the Sky Avenue shopping mall in Genting Highlands.

The burger joint recommends its classic cheeseburger (RM40 or US$9.60). Those with dietary restrictions will be glad to know the menu is pork- and lard-free.

Foodies can also customize milkshakes (RM10 or US$2.50) with eight flavors including salted caramel, chocolate, and malted milk. The fries (from RM25 or US$6) are cooked with peanut oil.

Five Guys was founded in 1986 in Washington D.C. by brothers Jerry and Janie Murrell. Decades later, they are at more than 1,700 locations worldwide including Singapore, China, and Hong Kong.
