We’ve heard numerous stories around the world about people doing number 2 (sometimes intentionally) on public transport, but this is the first time we’ve heard about such an incident taking place on the KRL Commuterline line train in Jakarta, though it appears to be an unfortunate accident.

A tweet about the incident by user @catterpink is currently going viral on the Indonesian Twittersphere. Posted yesterday morning, @catterpink wrote that somebody did a poop-and-run in the train carriage she was in, causing quite a stinky commotion.

HELP @commuterline SOMEBODY POOPED IN THE TRAIN AND NOW SHE’S GONE. HAPPENED IN JATINEGARA TRAIN NO. 1428 CARRIAGE 10. THE WHOLE CARRIAGE CAN’T STAND THE SMELL

While @catterpink’s initial tweet gives only a skid mark’s worth of details about the incident, soon people began asking for more info as the tweet went viral, having been retweet over 1,600 times at the time of writing.

In subsequent tweets, @catterpink wrote that she was in the women-only carriage when a passenger, who was sitting down, appeared to defecate in her pants. The stink quickly filled the carriage, leading to other passengers keeping their distance from her and opening windows. The alleged perpetrator then got up and ran out of the train at the next stop, after which the remaining passengers noticed that her waste had soaked through her pants and stained the seat. One passenger even tried to clean the stain with water, but to no avail.

It appears, by @catterpink’s account, that the alleged pooper did not release her bowels intentionally. We dare anyone who’s been in a similar situation before (with varying degrees of success in holding their poop in) to criticize her without feeling some sympathy.

@catterpink pretty much sums it up for us on what we hope happened to the alleged pooper.

Hopefully she washed her bum as soon as she got off the train.

The icky incident was confirmed by KRL Commuterline’s official Twitter account, which posted photos of the unfortunate cleaners tasked with cleaning the poop from the carriage in question.
