A Transjakarta Mintirans bus toppled on its side on Jalan Gatot Soebroto in South Jakarta yesterday afternoon, injuring four passengers.
An evacuation video shortly after the incident went viral, showing the bus already on its side while Transjakarta employees and passersby helped passengers out of the bus through the shattered windshield.

A police investigation into the incident ruled that the bus toppled onto its right side after it crashed into a busway barrier — high concrete blocks separating the Transjakarta-exclusive lane with the rest.
“We suspect [the driver] was not careful enough and wasn’t concentrating,” Jakarta Traffic Police Law Enforcement Head Budiyanto told CNN Indonesia yesterday.
Budiyanto added that the driver is still in police custody pending further investigation but no charges have been filed.
Four passengers were taken to the Mintohardjo Navy Hospital in Bendungan Hilir to be treated for minor injuries, including bruises and small cuts.
The Minitrans buses were introduced last year to gradually replace the old and rusty Metro Mini buses on Jakarta’s roads. The Minitrans, which generally have a maximum capacity of 30 passengers, operate outside of the Transjakarta-exclusive busway lanes, serving as a feeder bus for the larger Transjakarta buses.
