People say you should follow your passion, but when your passion is porn, it’s probably best to follow something else.
30-year-old TW found that out the hard way after he was arrested for selling pirated pornographic DVDs in Senen, Central Jakarta yesterday.
TW admitted that his love of porn inspired him to go into the business.
“It was my hobby ever since I was in school, every day I watch 30 [pornographic] films. So, instead of just collecting the films, I download them, burn them onto DVDs, and sell them online via my website, www.bosdvdxxx.com,” TW said at the Central Jakarta Police Precinct, as quoted by Warta Kota yesterday.
Anyone interested in accessing the website above would be disappointed to know that it has been taken down. Sorry.
TW said he sold his DVDs for Rp 25,000 apiece. And, just like most pirated DVD sellers in Jakarta, he gave away a free DVD for every 10 DVDs purchased.
Siswo Yuwono, head of the Crime Investigation Unit at the Central Jakarta Police, said TW had been producing DVDs for over a year. TW, who was able to produce 30 DVDs per day, also supplied DVDS to kiosks in Pasar Senen, Tanah Abang, and Pasar Baru.
The police confiscated 300 porn DVDs, a Mitsubishi Grand Livina, two mobile phones, and hundreds of thousands of rupiah in cash from TW’s house.
TW could face 5 years in prison for spreading pornography.
