Lake Kenanga, where the body of University of Indonesia student Akseyna Ahad Dori was found last Thursday
UI confirmed that suspicion today when they identified the body as belonging to Akseyna Ahad Dori, a 19-year-old freshman biology student who came from Yogyakarta.
“Last night, a UI official shared the news with the parents of the deceased at the hospital where the body of the deceased was being kept,” said UI’s head of public relations, Rifelly Dewi Astuti, in an official press release that went out this morning.
In the release, UI’s rector, Muhammad Anis, said he and all the members of the UI community expressed their deepest condolences to Akseyna’s family.
Police are still investigating the case. Although no information has been released regarding the cause of the death, police revealed that the student had been wearing a backpack filled with stones, almost certainly put there to keep the body from floating to the surface.
