Man admits to killing shaman who wouldn’t stop trying to seduce his wife in late night duel

A man was found dead in front of a junior high school in the regency of Pati in East Java early on Friday morning. Police have arrested a suspect who allegedly confessed to the killing and said it was the result of a late night duel fueled by jealousy.

The body of 48-year-old Sugiarto was discovered in front of Gabus Junior High with fatal stab wounds, which Pati police say were inflicted by 27-year-old Dwi Sulistyo. Authorities arrested the suspect on Friday as well and he reportedly made no attempt to run away when they found him in nearby Baturejo Village.

Pati Police Chief Uri Nartant said the suspect was motivated by his burning anger toward Sugiarto, who allegedly tried to seduce Dwi’s 26-year-old wife, Indah Lestari.

Indah first met Sugiarto about six months ago in his capacity as a paranormal healer.

“In the beginning, the perpetrator’s wife delivered her sick mother to seek treatment from the victim, who is known to be a paranormal. Well, that’s when the victim began to like the wife of the perpetrator. The victim fell in love and continued to try and seduce the perpetrator’s wife by contacting her,” Nartanti said as quoted by Kompas.

According to the police, things came to a head on Thursday night when Sugiarto repeatedly called Dwi’s wife to invite her on a date.

Indah refused his request, which angered Sugiarto and caused him to threaten to kill her entire family if she did not meet him. Dwi then got on the phone with the shaman, but instead of getting an apology he got challenged to a duel in front of the junior high school.

Dwi agreed, grabbed a sickle and jumped on his motorcycle accompanied by a friend.

Sugiarto arrived at the site carrying a sharpened bamboo stick, but he was apparently no match for Dwi, who cut him down with his sickle. Once he realized Sugiarto was dead,  Dwi and his friend fled the scene.

Police have charged Dwi with assault leading to death, meaning he could face up to 15 years in prison. Police are still investigating whether to charge his friend as an accomplice.

At the press conference discussing the case, Dwi told the media he was sorry for his actions but said he felt he had no choice after Sugiarto’s continued attempts to seduce his wife.

“Moreover, he challenged me and threatened to kill my wife and family. As a man, I did not accept his behavior. I am sorry, now what will be the fate of my wife and child?” Dwi said.

Man admits to killing shaman, who wouldn’t stop trying to seduce his wife, in late night duel

As written, it implies the late night duel was the shaman’s seduction technique.

Which, as far as seduction techniques go, I reckon is a good one =)
