Ladau Tetlageni AKA Daud Kei, the leader of a youth gang (read: head thug), was arrested by the police for assaulting Deni Rizka, a waiter at the Zodiak karaoke outlet in CityWalk, Sudirman.
Daud was arrested with three acquaintances: Rahim Rettob, Rizal Rettob, and Abdul Harris Madanar on Sunday evening.
“Daud and his three acquaintances were arrested and have been officially in our custody since yesterday,” said Police Grand Comm Heru Pranoto, director of the Common Crimes Investigative Unit at the Jakarta Police, as quoted by Tempo today.
Heru said Daud and his acquaintances were involved in physically assaulting the karaoke waiter on December 28, 2014. They were offended when they thought that the beer they were served was watered down.
“And they assaulted [the waiter] and acted like premans (thugs),” Heru said.
The police are still interrogating the four suspects. Daud Kei and his acquaintances were charged with seven years in prison for physical assault.
