Go-Jek driver in Depok stabbed by masked assailants, Rp 30 million in wedding savings stolen

Latif Anwar, a Go-Jek motorcycle taxi driver in Depok, is about to tie the knot soon. But his road to the pelaminan took an unexpected tragic twist when he became the victim of a violent robbery.

On Sunday, Latif was on his way to pick up a customer’s package in the Leuwinanggung district of Depok when two masked men stopped him and demanded his motorcycle. Latif resisted and the assailants then stabbed him in the abdomen and snatched a bag Latif was carrying before running away.

“The bag contained Rp 30 million for [Latif’s] wedding,” said Latif’s brother, Yusuf, as quoted by Sindonews yesterday.

Latif was taken to the Sentra Medika Depok Hospital for treatment. Luckily, he’s recovering well and was allowed to go home yesterday.

However, the police have not yet managed to identify the robbers or retrieve Latif’s wedding savings.

We wish Latif a full recovery and hope that his money will be recovered soon so that he and his bride can have the wedding they wanted.
