Early this morning, an unidentified assailant reportedly threw a Molotov bomb at a building in Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta.

Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Jakarta Secretary General Habib “Fitsa Hats” Novel claimed that the building serves as a coordinating post for the hardline Islamic group, and labeled the incident as an attack on FPI.

“[The assailant] must be someone who doesn’t like FPI, and one example of people who don’t like FPI are communists,” he said, as quoted by JPNN today.

Of course, Novel did not provide any evidence behind his commie suspicion. After all, communists (if they still exist in Indonesia) can’t be the only people who dislike the FPI right?

Strangely, Jakarta Metro Police spokesman Argo Yuwono denied that the building even belonged to the FPI.

“It’s not an office [for any mass organization]. It’s like a patrol post… a place for people to hang out,” he said, as quoted by Republika today. He added that an investigation into the case was launched regardless.

Novel acknowledged that the building did not feature any FPI attributes or signs, but asserted that it was definitely FPI’s.

Well, regardless of who is lying here, we’re just glad that the Molotov attack did not claim any victims.
