Body found floating in lake located in University of Indonesia’s campus

A man’s body was found floating in Lake Kenanga, located on the campus of the University of Indonesia (UI) in Depok, at approximately 9:55 am today.

The body was discovered by Fauzi, a UI student who was walking beside the edge of the lake.

“At first [Fauzi] thought he saw a hand, so he reported it to the security team,” said UI’s head of public relations, Rifelly Dewi Astuti, as quoted by Tribunnews

Officials quickly removed the corpse from the lake and the body was examined by members of the local police, who said they believed the corpse had been in the lake for 2-3 days judging from the decomposition.

The body was then moved to Kramat Jati Police Hospital to undergo an autopsy that will hopefully give investigators some clues as to the cause of death.
