We know that the food our kids eat at school is hardly clean or healthy, but we’d never guess they’d be laced with illegal drugs.

The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) set up an operation to apprehend some pot brownie dealers after they say a middle school student was found eating the illegal dessert some time ago.

BNN first managed to track down two buyers, OJ (21) and AH (21), on Friday as they were waiting for their “baked” goods at the parking lot of Blok M Plaza in South Jakarta.

Then they arrested three dealers who were operating out of a shop in Blok M Plaza. IR (38), the shop’s owner, cooked and dealt the pot brownies with the help of a chef YG (23) and a storekeeper HA (37).

“The brains of the operation is IR, who sold marijuana cookies and chocolate through the website www.tokohemp.com. He sold through his website. Buyers were from all over Indonesia,” said Police Inspector General Dedi Fauzi Elhakim, deputy chief of Drugs Eradication at BNN, as quoted by Warta Kota yesterday.

BNN then raided an apartment rented by IR in Tangerang that served as the kitchen for their operation. There, authorities found 4kg of marijuana among the baking supplies. There were also brownies already packaged and ready to be shipped out to buyers.

The three suspects could potentially face the death penalty or life in prison for drug trafficking.
