Dance to the beat of the Teenage Mutants at Colosseum’s club-within-a-club (Saturday)
Baia is a club located within North Jakarta’s colossal Colosseum club. It features a distinctly intimate underground vibe, quite unlike the flash and laser-filled main club, and it should be a perfect match for German DJ duo Teenage Mutants, who are also known for their music’s underground vibe (similar to certain sewer-dwelling Ninja Turtles). They’ve quickly earned acclaim on the international club circuit for their no holds barred techno and deep house beats and you can catch them at Baia this Saturday.
Bust a groove at this Wu-Tang tribute night (Friday)
If hip hop is more your style, consider heading to The Safehouse this Friday for a tribute to the Wu-Tang Clan and their classic 1993 debut album (which was in turn a tribute to the 1978 kung-fu classic The 36th Chamber of Shaolin). Gerry Blaze, Klapr and Dhito will be on deck to provide their spins on “the greatest hip hop group of all time”.
