North of Nowhere is a dance performance that has been done by the Netherland’s acclaimed De Dansers dance troupe, but each performance has been unique as it is tailored to the specific environment they are working with. For this Saturday’s performance in Kota Tua’s Taman Fatahillah, De Dansers will demonstrate their explosive and acrobatic style in front of the iconic Museum Sejarah (The Jakarta History Museum). This Friday night South Jakarta’s hottest club, Jenja, welcomes German progressive house legend Timo Maas to the the decks. Maas has been DJing since the ’80s and has has produced remixes for artists such as Fatboy Slim, Kelis and Madonna. For more info.

One of the country’s most respected painters, Hendra Gunawan inspired generations of great Indonesian artists. This exhibition at Ciputra Artpreneur Center features a number of his works rarely seen by the public before as well as a collection of pieces by contemporary artists responding to his work. Exhibition goes until August 16.

Unfortunately they recently closed up shop (don’t worry, they’ve moving to a new venue, Amara Singapore) but those who want to get one last taste of J&P’s award-winning cocktails courtesy of mixologist Jerrold Khoo, who won the 2018 Diageo World Class Competition in Singapore, can do so this Friday at Mother Monster.
